Another weekend is done and dusted. How do they go so quick when the week can go so slow… But I have had such a lovely weekend with my parents, spending the weekend exploring the beautiful city of York. The reason for our visit was my dad. It was his birthday last weekend and when we went to Edinburgh last year on the train, he saw a sign for the National Railway Museum and has always wanted to go ever since. So, just to show that dreams do come true we got back on the train and made a special visit to the museum.
To mine and my mums surprise the National Railway Museum was actually really good. From seeing the Mallard to the Royal carriages that Queen Victoria rode in, to the Eurostar – there was so much to see. Personally, I preferred the Royal carriages and I loved seeing how the inside of their carriages looked with opulent lampshades and plush sofas, as well as tiny little baths and narrow double beds.
Here are a few photos of our time at the museum.
I entered a bloggers paradise here at Peggy Porschen Cakes! And there was even a blogger perched on the steps under the beautiful doorway with her professional photographer snapping away.
This explosion of pink against the dark London road is an instant uplift especially on the wet cloudy day like ours! You can always rely on the English weather not to let you down ha ha.

I have been to Cornwall a number of times but never before had I visited or even heard of Porthleven. I can’t believe I never had because it was so beautiful.
Porthleven is England’s most southerly port and is literally brimming with history. This quaint little port is so picturesque, with white cottages contrasting again the bright blue sea, and filled with shops and restaurants.

After having over a month off finish university, work placements, and just generally enjoying special times in our lives we are back!! The past few weeks have been a whirlwind with lots of events taking place and unfortunately, my little hobby of blogging had to take a back seat and I admit it has taken a lot of motivation to start writing again. But here we are at the end of June (where has the time gone) and we are back with already a few adventures under our belts. I hope you have been enjoying the first of the summer sunshine and getting out there and exploring yourself!

For Christmas my dad was generous enough to buy my mum, sister and myself tickets to see the musical Dream Girls! So it was a cute girls day out with the other dream girls in my life!

I and Cole were both lucky enough to be invited to the Gin Festival in Nottingham! The festival was founded in 2013 by a couple from Leeds, and now it is a non-stop tour around the UK and one of the biggest gin festivals! And I can see why! It was so much fun with over 100 gins to try, cocktails to taste, masterclasses to watch and music to dance too! Being an avid gin lover myself this festival was right up my street and made such a nice different to my cheap gin from Tesco (being a student I have to, unfortunately, budget on my alcohol choice!). So being able to taste all these delightful gins in so many different flavors was so so delish!
